• Used as a systemic herbicide to inhibit photosynthesis in target plants; [EXTOXNET]
• Post emergence contact herbicide effective against many annual and biennial weeds and, except for Sorghum halepense, most perennial weeds.
• Usage areas include plantations of coniferous trees, railroad right of ways, utilities, pipelines, petroleum tanks, drainage ditches, and sugar, and alfalfa.
• Hexazinone is produced by reaction of cyanoamine with methyl chloroformate, followed by methylation, and treatment with dimethylamine and cyclohexyl isocyanate.
